Winter Wonderland

The first snow of the season fell at Allerton Holiday Park this weekend and whilst it hasn’t settled it’s good to know that winter is on its way. There’s been a sharp frost too, crystalising seed heads and beautifying spider’s webs. If you’ve visited Allerton Holiday Park in the summer, then you’ll know how beautiful it looks with the floral displays and woodland canopy. In winter it’s a different kind of beauty. We love it whatever the time of year, and we’re pretty sure that you would too.

There’s plenty to do in the area at this time of year – there’s the obvious Christmas Shopping in the cities and towns of Leeds, Harrogate and York – each has their own Christmas market too if you’re looking for something a little special.

If you want to escape the crowds then the Dales look amazing at the moment and are just a short drive from Allerton Holiday Park. Snow capped summits transform the views. For a winter wonderland experience, without the wilderness then Stockeld Park near Wetherby offers ice-skating, Nordic ski-ing and, for the young at heart, a chance to visit Father Christmas himself (subject to his flight schedule and present-making activities, of course!). There’s also the Yorkshire Winter Wonderland near York, with ice-skating, shopping and a Christmas funfair.

The National Trust hold some brilliant Christmas-themed events – from Wreath Making at Brimham Rocks to Art Exhibitions and 1920’s weekends at Nunnington Hall. There’s plenty to choose from, and all within an easy drive of Allerton Holiday Park.

Wherever you choose to spend your day, you’re assured of a warm and cosy night – with central heating, double glazing and super warm duvets! Days out, or days in; evening out or evening in. Peace, quiet and relaxation.

From now until Saturday 19th December we’re offering you the chance to stay at Allerton Holiday Park for seasonal special price. Stay in a Lodge for just £180 for three week nights (instead of £255); or a Holiday Home for just £115 (instead of £169). Or stay a Friday and Saturday night for the same price – and enjoy a lazy Sunday checkout of 2pm.
