Allerton Holiday Park is situated between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and provides a perfect base to discover the variety of historic towns and villages in the County.
We love the diversity between the Moors and the Dales and we’ve picked out just some of our favourite places to visit – we hope that you fall in love with them too.
Castles and Abbeys
We are surrounded by areas of historical importance and we love visiting the castles and abbeys in the area. On the doorstep of Allerton Holiday Park is Allerton Castle; a little further away is Fountains Abbey – Yorkshire’s finest Cistercian Abbey ruin, with over 10 historic buildings, spanning over 800 years of history. There’s also Knaresborough Castle, Ripley Castle and Bolton Abbey nearby.
We are blessed to be surrounded by some of the best landscapes in the world, although may be we are a little biased! Situated within a 20 minute drive of the Yorkshire Dales, and 30 minutes from the North York Moors; You’ll be spoilt for choice on places to go and things to see. We love the stunning rock formations at Brimham Rocks
Rest and Relaxation
Allerton Holiday Park is just 8 miles from the Spa Town of Harrogate – the perfect location for indulging in a Turkish Bath or Spa Treatment, followed by a visit to the infamous Bettys Tea Room – the place where the Bettys story began over 100 years ago.
There are plenty of family activities to choose from – but if you are looking for something a little special then the Forbidden Corner will delight children (and adults) of all ages; for something more exhilarating then Lightwater Valley is approx 30minutes drive from Allerton Holiday Park.
