Winter is knocking at the door

The weather has turned decidedly wintery after a very mild and beautiful autumn. There are forecasts of snow and sensationalist headlines popping up about this winter being one of the worst for a number of years. Whatever it becomes, I think we’ll all agree that at the moment it is cold.

However that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a holiday in a static caravan or lodge. These days they really are a home from home experience with double glazing and central heating, good insulation and usually a gas fire too.

Kitchens are well equipped with all mod cons and at Allerton Holiday Park we include all cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils too. We also provide all bedding for use over your holiday.

Just because it’s wintery outside though, that’s not a reason to stay at the Holiday Park. We’re located between York and Harrogate and both have excellent Christmas and Winter activities taking place that you might enjoy. We’re a fan of the Winter Experience at Stockeld Park, near Wetherby and the Ice Skating at the Designer Outlet on the outskirts of York. You could also do some Christmas Shopping too!

York is famous for its pantomime at York Theatre Royal – this year it’s Jack and the Beanstalk. Starring Berwick Kaler as the pantomime Dame, you’re sure of great night out – oh yes you are!

If it’s a bit of escapism that you’re after then walking in the Dales is a great way to unwind and connect with the environment around you. Refreshing and bracing, a winter walk is great for the soul. A visit to one of the fantastic hostelries on your way back to Allerton Holiday Park, good food, roaring fire and local ale, is a brilliant way to warm back up.

Back at the Holiday Park relaxation is the buzz word. Put your feet up, sit back and relax – allow all the pre-Christmas stress to drift away. Play cards, read a book, watch a movie – you could even make some popcorn! Whatever you do whilst at Allerton Holiday Park, enjoy yourself!
