Season’s End – Weir Holiday Park
Well we’re at the end of the season again, the leaves are still hanging on the trees this year after an unusually mild autumn but their golden hues and the sudden temperature drop indicate that winter is on its way.
This year has been lovely. So many people coming to Weir Holiday Park, with many returning – a real indication of how much you all enjoy coming and staying. And some fabulous reviews on Trip Advisor too – we do love reading them, it helps to make all our team’s hardwork worthwhile.
So do the awards that we’ve picked up this year. A Silver Gilt at Yorkshire in Bloom – a real testament to the effort that Geoff puts in to making the gardens look fabulous, throughout the seasons. Pipped from getting a gold as the criteria for judging has changed. Nevertheless an award to be proud of.
Likewise we retained our David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation for the work done to protect and enhance the natural environment at Weir Holiday Park. This includes managing the land as a haven for wildlife, reduction of energy usage, water and other resources; reduce, reuse and recycling of waste; and supporting our local community. We have also worked hard to retain our Honey Bee Friendly status – again partially due to the planting schemes on the Park. This year we have also received a 5 in 5 Hedgerow Award for creating, maintaining and managing hedgerows that attract and preserve wildlife.
The contribution that you, as guests, make shouldn’t be underestimated either. The stunning gardens and displays of pot plants all help to add to the overall feel and look of the site – and for that, we thank you.
We’ve also updated some of our static caravans and have some new owners on site, welcome! There are still some stunning statics for sale – if you are interested then do contact us (even out of season we’re still working!).
Cheers for a great year everyone, and here’s to 2018.
