Half Term Activities Allerton Holiday Park

With half term here, we’re pretty busy at Allerton Holiday Park with bookings for the week; it’s a great time for families to get away before tourist attractions gear up for Easter and the summer months.

There’s still a great selection of things to do with the family at this time of year. Obviously on site we have our children’s play area and the large field – great for exercising dogs and kids! But if the weather means that you have to spend time indoors then we’re recommending the following places this Half-term:

  • Stockeld Park – just down the road from us at Wetherby, the team there are putting on a fun week of Science activities. Sublime Science – winners of the BBC’s Dragons Den will be entertaining children all week in open workshops between noon and 3pm. They’ll be doing magic tricks, creating sweets through science and also creating bubbles, smoke and slime. If Science isn’t your thing then Stockeld Park still have ice-skating, their Enchanted Forest, A Yew Maze and themed adventure play areas.
  • Lightwater Valley theme park offers a range of indoor and outdoor activities during Half Term week plus they have a few special guests making an appearance from Riggmoor Farm… Rabbits, Lambs, Calves and Miniature Ponies to name a few. Lightwater Valley is a short drive from Allerton Park at Ripon.
  • The Mercer Gallery in Harrogate are running craft activities from Tuesday to Friday – making friendship bracelets and paper crafts. Perfect for children of all ages.
  • RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate are running weather detective themed events over half term – with a daily garden trail, and windsock creation with some of the team from the Royal Meteorological Society, plus a wacky weather station and tales of wild weather and stormy seas.

Let us know what activities you enjoy whilst you are at Allerton Holiday Park this half term by sharing your photos on our Facebook page.
