Christmas in Your Holiday Home

Christmas is a great time to get away with the family especially if you own your own static caravan or timber lodge – like those that are at Allerton Park Holiday Park.

It is easy to add some Christmas spirit to your holiday home – even if you don’t fancy bringing a tree indoors adding a welcoming Christmas Fir outside with some outdoor fairy lights and a Christmas wreath on the door can help you get into the festive mood. Internal decorations are best being subtle so that they don’t encroach on space and candles are best avoided, as they can be dangerous.

Modern holiday homes have great kitchens so you can easily cook the festive Turkey and all the trimmings. We know that some people prefer to cook the turkey on Christmas Eve, just to free up some oven space for the all important roasted potatoes and parsnips and reduce the cooking stress!

The obvious alternative to cooking in your holiday home is to see if local restaurants and pubs offer a Christmas Dinner option – though it is likely that you will need to book well in advance.

Christmas day afternoon can still be spent walking the dog – but because you’re on holiday you’ll have access to rural lanes and footpaths. You’ll still be able to watch the Queen’s speech and raise a glass of sherry to 2017 before starting on the board games.

Of course by spending Christmas in your holiday home you’re away from the madding crowd on Boxing Day, tucked away in a haven for rest and relaxation!
