Enjoy a late summer holiday!

We all know that feeling you get when you are on holiday; indescribable enjoyment from being on vacation and separated, for a short time at least, from the stress of every day life. This is something we only ever experience when holidaying and now, for the first time, experts have shown how the holiday “feel good factor” is based on physical and psychological factors and is scientifically linked to us leading longer, healthier and happier lives. Researchers have measured the many benefits you gain from taking even a short break which include lower blood pressure, improved sleep quality and better moods. The studies have also proven that these continue for weeks after we have returned home and back to our normal routine.

If you have been considering a late summer/ early autumn break knowing how good it is for you should make that decision a lot easier. There are numerous benefits from taking a break at this time of year. The weather is cooler and more comfortable, the crowds are less and it gives you the ideal opportunity to get some serious rest and relaxation before we hurtle head on into the hectic festive season.

You don’t need to fly off to a far flung destination either holidays close to home are just as beneficial. Late summer holidays are believed to be ideal when it comes to rest and recuperation, which we all need for both our mental and physical health.

Relaxation is part of Yorkshire Holiday Parks philosophy – both our parks are located in a nature-rich environment; Allerton Holiday Park is set in a beautiful woodland surrounded by fields, Weir Holiday Park is on an island within the River Derwent. Both are unique settings with wildlife enjoying the parks as we do.

Away from the Parks, Yorkshire is a brilliant late season destination with something for everyone: cities, culture, countryside and coastline; food, festivals and fun.
